Zajac Ranch for Children Summer Medical Camps

Zajac Ranch provides children (aged 7-17) and young adults (aged 18-40) with chronic, life-threatening and/or debilitating conditions the opportunity to attend one of nine weeks of medical camp.

Located on 41 acres near Mission, BC, Zajac Ranch provides children (aged 7-17) and young adults (aged 18-40) with chronic, life-threatening and/or debilitating conditions the opportunity to attend one of nine weeks of medical camp.

Zajac Ranch's medical camps vary, week-to-week, upon medical diagnosis' – from heart conditions, autism, to craniofacial differences. This year's Down Syndrome, Epilepsy and Muscular Dystrophy Camp will run July 20-24, 2015. Of particular note, this year, we'll be operating two Young Adult Camps – the first being for 18-30yr olds and the second being for 18-40yr olds. Our second Young Adult Camp is important to note as it would be the first year we've had two and, largely, it's success this year will determine its longevity within our camp schedule.

Zajac Ranch offers:

  • A 1:3 Counsellor to Camper Ratio
  • Three meals / day – accommodating any food allergy or dietary concern
  • Fully equipped 24/7 Medical Centre staffed by a registered nurse
  • Fully accessible facilities and inclusive programming and outdoor activities (high ropes course, horseback riding, kayaking, etc) to suit all abilities and disabilities
  • A limited number of onsite personal support workers (typically claimed by early Spring)
  • Free attendance for any family appointed Personal Support Worker (who must be 19yrs+, not be the campers immediate parents/guardians, and submit PSW paperwork and a Criminal Record Check dated within 6 months of camp start date)
  • Access to the Zajac Camper Allowance which reduces the cost of attending by 50%
  • Additional subsidies for those with demonstrated financial need

Information regarding camp weeks, camper and family-appointed Personal Support Worker applications can be found at http://www.zajacranch.com/camper-info/medical-camps/.
