Making Sound Decisions is an introduction to legal tools across Canada that families can use to assist with decision making with vulnerable people. The newly updated Registered Disability Savings Plan bulletin is full of stories and scenarios on how the RDSP can be best used to achieve financial security.

Currently, PLAN are working on three major issues related to the RDSP:

• Guardianship for adults (outside of BC) who might not have contractual capacity to open a plan themselves
• Opening an RDSP for individuals who might not have contractual capacity but who have no one in their life who can act as “legal representative”
• Opening an RDSP for children with special needs who are in the care of child welfare
