“Down Syndrome for Medical Professionals” Certified by College of Family Physicians of Canada

DSRF’s self-paced online course, “Down Syndrome for Medical Professionals,” has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada for up to 2 Mainpro+® credits.

This means Canadian family doctors can now receive Down syndrome-specific training while meeting their continuing education requirements.

Down Syndrome for Medical Professionals covers the entire lifespan: from gently delivering a Down syndrome diagnosis, to healthcare guidelines for children, adults, and adolescents, to the challenges of Down Syndrome Regression Disorder and early onset Alzheimer’s disease, and more. It is a resource that medical professionals can return to again and again as they provide quality care to patients of all ages.

Course Description:

Individuals with Down syndrome have a higher risk of many different health issues throughout life. This course provides an overview of medical care for people with Down syndrome throughout the lifespan, beginning with diagnosis. The course delivers expertise from some of North America’s leading Down syndrome specialists including Dr. Marilyn Bull, Dr. Peter Bulova, Dr. Jonathan Santoro, Dr. Eileen Quinn, Dr. Elizabeth Head, Dr. Brian Chicoine, Dr. Brian Skotko, and Dr. Aven Poynter, along with the professional team of the Down Syndrome Resource Foundation.
