Each year in four cities across Canada, the finance industry comes together to invest in something more significant than just stocks and bonds. Through Up the Down Market, an investment is made in the future of individuals with Down syndrome - one which pays lifetime dividends to so many families.

Up the Down Market, held annually in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal, is a stock market game in which finance heavyweights flex their muscles by investing in fictitious companies. News bulletins throughout the evening fuel the trading frenzy as competing tables brave the ups and downs of the market and vie for the coveted Up the Down Market trophy - and bragging rights for the next year.

But the real story of the evening is the support generated for individuals with Down syndrome - and in this, everyone is a winner. To date, UDMD has raised over $4 million in support of Down syndrome research and educational programming which empowers individuals with Down syndrome to reach their full potential.
