Volunteer Opportunities

The Down Syndrome Research Foundation is a volunteer friendly environment that is committed to working with you to ensure your volunteer experience fits your schedule and provides a meaningful experience.

Our volunteers are part of our family and share our value of making a difference in the lives of children, youth and adults with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities.

As a member of the DSRF volunteer team, your commitment to the organization is priceless. By volunteering your time, you are not only filling an important position in our organization, but you are also assisting us in carrying out our mission.

Who are our volunteers? Many are students of all ages coming from post secondary institutions looking for meaningful experience working with people with disabilities.  Some are students in professional programs such as speech and language, physiotherapists or education programs. Some are people with disabilities, looking at ways they can give back. Some are professionals who bring their talents and hobbies to our students as guest speakers, guest readers or guest teachers. We also have many siblings, grandparents and parents joining our extended family.

We thank you for considering sharing your time and talent with us. If you are interested please print and complete our volunteer application attach resume and follow postage instructions. We will be in touch with you as soon as possible to set up a meeting to discuss your volunteer goals. Together, Hand in Hand, we can make a difference.
